In loving memory of Candice Lee Petersen — a beloved daughter, sister, friend and a remarkable woman who devoted herself to helping others.

Candi had a compassionate heart and a natural ability to recognise when someone needed help. She believed that even a small act of kindness could make a meaningful difference in another person's life.

She became well known in her community through her involvement in volunteer work and local outreach initiatives. Whether she was helping distribute food to families, assisting elderly residents or supporting people going through difficult times, Candi gave her time freely and without expecting recognition.

Her courage was most clearly demonstrated during an emergency in her community, when she placed the safety of others before her own and helped people escape from a dangerous situation.

Her actions that day reflected the way she had always lived — with courage, compassion and concern for others.

Away from her community work, Candi loved the outdoors. She enjoyed hiking, exploring the mountains and spending quiet time surrounded by the natural beauty of the Garden Route. These were the places where she felt happiest and most at peace.

Her Christian faith guided her compassion and her belief that we should care for one another.
Candi's family and friends remember much more than the heroic act for which others came to know her. They remember her laughter, adventurous spirit, kindness and the young woman who brought so much happiness into their lives.

Her favourite mountain viewpoint near George has become a special place where those who loved her can remember her and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Your courage inspired us. Your kindness changed lives. Your love remains with us forever. ❤️
