In loving memory of Willem Hendrik Botha — a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and veteran.

Willem was a man of discipline, loyalty and quiet courage. His military service formed an important chapter of his life and left him with a deep appreciation for friendship, responsibility and the bonds shared between those who served together.

After his years in uniform, Willem devoted himself to his family and building a peaceful life at home. He was a loving husband and a proud father and grandfather who took enormous pleasure in watching his family grow.

He remained close to several of his former comrades, and their friendships continued for decades. Stories from their younger years would often emerge around a braai, accompanied by plenty of laughter and memories of friends who were no longer with them.

Willem's Christian faith was an important source of strength throughout his life. He believed in loyalty, honesty, humility and standing by your family and friends when they needed you most.

Behind the soldier was a gentle family man who enjoyed gardening, a good braai, rugby and sitting outside with a cup of coffee while talking to his grandchildren.

We remember his service with respect, but we remember the man with even greater love.
